Rotary Club of Yenda – Dick and Lavelle Wallace Memorial Scholarship
Terms: One year
The Rotary Club of Yenda Dick and Lavelle Wallace Memorial Scholarship was established following a bequest to the Yenda Rotary Club from the estate of Dick and Lavelle Wallace. The Wallace’s were highly respected farmers in the Yenda area of the Riverina, New South Wales and were well known for their production of irrigation cereals and high quality livestock. Over many years the Wallace’s welcomed many international agricultural students onto their farm. The object was for them to gain a better understanding of Australian farming methods especially in the field of irrigation so that they could then transfer and implement those ideas, where appropriate, into their own farming communities. This scholarship has been established in recognition of the endeavours of the Wallace’s, and is aimed at encouraging young Australians to pursue careers in Agriculture.
